The final step before your music goes out into the world.

Mastering is where the finished mix gets its final tonal balance, level, dynamics and overall polish so it translates consistently across headphones, speakers, cars, streaming platforms and everything in between.

The goal is not to change what your mix is. It is to make sure the finished record feels cohesive, competitive and ready for release while preserving the character of the song.

How It Works

Send me your final approved mix along with any notes or reference tracks you would like me to consider.

I’ll master the song with the goal of preserving the intent of the mix while making sure the final record translates clearly, consistently and confidently across different listening environments.

Once the first master is ready, I’ll send it to you for review.

One revision round is included.

Preparing Your Mix

For the best result, please send the final approved mix at full resolution.

Your premaster should:

• Be exported at the original session sample rate and bit depth when possible
• Avoid unnecessary clipping
• Avoid excessive master-bus limiting
• Leave enough headroom for mastering
• Include any mix-bus processing that is an intentional part of the sound

If your mix is already using compression, saturation or other processing that is important to the sound, you do not need to remove it just for mastering.

Turnaround

Standard turnaround is approximately 3-7 business days after I receive the final approved mix and project information.

If you have a firm release deadline, include it in the intake form.

Revisions

One revision round is included.

If the master reveals an issue that would be better addressed in the mix itself, I may recommend revisiting the mix before finalizing the master.

What You’ll Receive

Your approved master will be delivered as a high-resolution stereo audio file suitable for release and distribution.

Additional formats can be provided when agreed upon for the project.

Before You Order

This service is for a finished, approved mix.

If the song still needs balance changes, vocal treatment, automation, effects or other mix work, Mixing is the better fit.

If the production itself still needs additional musical elements or creative development, Mix Plus or Full Song Production may be more appropriate.
